In Person - Events
We believe that using the language in context gives a tremendous boost to language acquisition. We organize events and field trips throughout the year so that students can practice their Spanish in real, live situations. Join us on the next adventure!

This is a traditional Mexican & Latin American holiday that honors and remembers loved ones who are no longer with us. To celebrate Día de los Muertos, we make and decorate sugar skulls, face paint, sing, play games and eat the delicious traditional pan de muertos. Definitely, a kid’s favorite!
The holidays are the best time of the year, especially when treats and presents are involved! At this tasty event kids create a one-of-a-kind holiday present for a loved one! Kids make traditional Mexican hot chocolate and homemade whip cream.
There is no better way to keep our child’s Spanish alive than watching a recent kid-friendly movie – en español! This is always a great opportunity for your child to practice auditory comprehension skills. Games, an art project related to the movie and dinner are always included!
Join us to watch Disney’s Encanto on Friday, April 21 from 5:30-8:30 pm at Viva el Español in Lafayette.

Families love to join us for a sensory exploration of a typical Latin American grocery store! We practice the vocabulary learned in class to see, smell, taste, and touch a wide variety of products not seen in a typical US grocery store. Kids participate in a scavenger hunt, where they have the opportunity to interact with the store personnel – en español!
